Emi Harrison has avoided her ex-fiance, Jack Cabot, for nearly two years. Her twin brother Evan’s wedding is about to end that streak.
From bad bridesmaid’s dresses, a hyperactive sister-in-law, a mean girl with even meaner secrets, and too much to drink, nothing seems to go right for Emi, except when she’s wearing her little gray dress.
When she speed-walks into Liam Jaxon’s bar, things get more complicated. He’s gorgeous, southern, and has no past with Emi. He may be exactly what she needs to prove for the last time that she doesn’t need or want Jack!
Her favorite little gray dress has made an appearance at nearly every major event in Emi’s adult life. Will it make another when she least expects it?

I love reading debut books. Especially when the new author is beyond nice and thankful to the bloggers that are in the tour. Makes me love the book already before I even read the first chapter.
The main thing I got from this book was that sometimes things aren’t what they seem. Our main female lead Emi was previously engaged to Jack and things didn’t work out. After not seeing him for almost 2 years they are put together in the wedding party to her twin brother and Jack sisters wedding. Of course Emi is not ecstatic to see Jack after their horrible break up. As the weekend starts, secrets are unraveled, others begin and pretty bad mishaps happen or well manipulation is more like it. This emotional roller coaster seems to becoming worse and worse and the only way for Emi to relax is alcohol. (I get ya gurl) This is where she finds herself in a bar without her purse and conversating with the sweet and sexy bar owner Liam. Maybe Liam is just the guy to get her officially over the broken heart Emi still holds over her ex Jack.
Reading this book blind and not reading the blurb first, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Was the main female lead Emi supposed to fall back in love with her ex fiance Jack? Or when she meets new man Liam, and they connect is she going to fall in love with him? Guaranteed that is what makes the thrill of the book of who will Em choose, I needed an answer asap.
About 8 or 9 chapters in, I made my choice of who I wanted Emi to be with, and I was soo scared the Author Aimee Brown would put Emi with the person I did not want her with, so I will admit I skipped to the last paper just to see if she ended up with my fave! Which I have actually not done before, I was telling myself I was preparing myself for disappointment if it was leading that way. Was I disappointed? NOPE not one bit, but I won’t be telling you if I am team Liam or team Jack. You’ll just have to read this book by yourself and wait to the end to see what team I was rooting for. By the way that ending. ADORBS and has all the romance I was looking for throughout the book ❤
I have read some really crappy debut novels and some really good ones, and Little Gray Dress was not a disappoint. The book went back and forth between present and past and different important events or dates that showed why things are they way they are in the present. I will admit I feel like there were some chapters or past situations that were not needed or given too much detail but it all worked out.
About the Author:
Aimee Brown is a writer and an avid reader. Little Gray Dress is her first published novel. My second novel is in the works now. She’s currently studying for her Bachelor’s degree in English Writing. She spends much of her time writing, doing homework, raising three teenagers, binge watching shows on Netflix and obsessively cleaning and redecorating her house. She’s fluent in sarcasm and has been known to utter profanities like she’s competing for a medal.
Aimee grew up in Oregon but is now a transplant living in cold Montana with her husband of twenty years, three teenage children, and far too many pets.
She would love to hear your thoughts on Little Gray Dress! If you’d like to chat with her she’s very active on social media. You can find her at any of the networks below. Stop by and say hello!
