(ARC) Steal by Rachel Van Dyken (Seaside Pictures #3)

ARC Review provided by (3)
“Steal, the follow-up standalone rockstar romance to the #1 NYT Bestseller
Keep…It’s easy to lose
yourself in someone you love.Easier to lose
yourself in someone you hate…I didn’t think it
could get any worse than having to babysit a bunch of spoiled musicians on set
— keeping them out of trouble is a cakewalk compared to seeing my ex every day.Seaside, Oregon
isn’t big enough for the both of us.She hates me.

I loathe her.

The plan was simple
— stay the hell away and make sure she gets to set on time.

What I didn’t expect
was to be faced with our past in front of an audience — and be forced to face
it again.

It’s torture.

The way she looks at
me.

The way I try to
look through her.

Words left unsaid.

The lingering
aftermath still as powerful as ever.

I feed the chasm
between us, for fear that she’ll make me feel again — and steal the last shred
of heart I have left.

We have everything
but each other.

It’s not enough.

Not when you’ve lost
love.

And replaced it with
the only thing left — hate.”

This is the first book in the Seaside Pictures series that I have read. It was nice to be able to learn about the other characters from the previous first two novels. Plus it was nice that nothing was confusing and I understood what was going on. With that being said I am still planning on going back and reading the other books in the series. I liked this book that much. Just by seeing the support Will and Angelica received from their friends and family makes me want to see how they came to their own HEA.

This book is a second chance romance full of LOTS of sexual tension and angst that is hard to deny with all the history Angelica and Will have shared. Trying to move on is a hard thing too do especially when they are both stars. Will a famous previous boy band and Angelica an actress. Both of those things playing roles in why these two are exes.

I enjoyed learning how these two became, why they hit relationship road blocks and then impatiently waited for these two to finally be together again. Trust and forgiveness were two major things between them, and the battle was not easy. But staying in love with each other was, they just didn’t know that.

This book gave me A LOT of emotions and I wouldn’t change it any other way. There was sadness, legit tears dropped in my tea cup. Laughing out loud in public. I had to calm my racing heart and even control my anger at moments but through all of it EVERYTHING was wonderfully written. Which was I surprised with it being a Rachel Van Dyken book? HECK NO. She gives me all the feels and wraps them up in a pretty little bow EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I highly recommend Cheaters & Cheater’s Regret BTW.

This was one gripping book and I enjoyed every roller coaster ride that came with it.
