Penthouse Prince by Virginia Nelson (Billionaire Dynasties #1)

“Single mom Jeanie Long was trying to save her butt at work by reporting her manager to the company owner. Instead, she finds herself greeted warmly by gorgeous company CEO Camden James…and introduced to his father as his fiancée. Now she’s been hired—complete with a hefty pay raise—to be the fake fiancée of the infamous “Penthouse Prince.”

Camden doesn’t believe in love. He believes in mutually beneficial business arrangements. With his real fiancée off cheating on him, Camden needs someone to help him prove to his father that he’s definitely ready to marry. Yet Jeanie’s combination of beauty and bluntness act like an aphrodisiac, and their “for the press” kisses look incredibly real. So real that Jeanie and Camden are either really convincing actors…or they’ve fallen for their own charade.”

My first thought was holy crap does this book jump right in, almost rushed. But then I kept reading and it fit so well. Everything was tied together perfectly. Everything being so rushed and unanswered was exactly how this story line needed to be written. I was without a doubt pulled in. Which is a wonderful thing because I LOVE fake relationship theme books, but I am picky.

I’m a sucker for guys changing their ways slowly and without realizing it. Typically the male lead is a playboy, or never see’s himself settling down. This is exactly what happened and I adored every page.

Camden James my oh my Camden James. Swoooon. He’s heartless (at first), demanding (in a sexy way), always in control (until her) and most definitely does not want to get married ever (oh I am sure that will change). Camden finds himself in a little bit of a pickle. He needs a fiancée – STAT. And when an employee finds herself somewhere she does not belong, he swoops up and steals the chance to introduce her to his father as his loving fiancée. You see he needs a fake fiance in order to get the money and shares from dear old dad. And the fake fiancée, Jeanie? Well she needs things too.

Jeanie Long is your typical hard worked female. She has a little girl to take care of and no family to help. So when she finds herself also in a pickle, she marches right up to the top dogs of the company to complain and save her butt. Not only does she get her butt saved, she gets it grabbed by her new fiancée Camden. Being faked engaged won’t hurt Jeanie, she will get what she needs. A new job, a raise, a new car and a lot of money each day for being the fake fiancée to put in her savings. She doesn’t have to tell anyone, not even her little girl, Kaycee. Her and Kaycee are just on a little vacation in the penthouse suite and that man, Camden? He is just her friend, nothing else… no matter how real it truly does feel.

Along the way the two change. Both growing up and improving great qualities for not only their selves but each other. I will say there were moments that the book took situations longer than needed, or too much detail, but I still really enjoyed the book. I look forward to the second book to come out TODAY!
