“When his younger brother loses interest in online dating, hot, bearded, bartender extraordinaire, Joe Collins, only intends to log into his account and shut it down. Until he reads about her.
Alex Parks is funny, friendly, and pretty much everything he’s been looking for in a woman. And in no time at all they’re emailing up a storm, telling each other their deepest darkest secrets… apart from the one that really matters.
And when it comes to love, serving it straight up works better than with a twist”

Alex Parks has been messaging “Eric Collins” for the last 6+ months. They became fast friends and told each other private thoughts and secrets. Imagine her surprise when she fly’s to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho from Seattle to surprise Eric and he has no idea who she is. When his brother, Joe Collins see’s her he knows exactly who Alex is and instantly tries apologizing. Alex has had enough, I mean hello she’s been being lied to for 6 months. The other brother Joe is NOT her type at all. So when a sickness takes over Alex is forced to stay in Coeue d’Alene until she is well enough to fly. Leaving time for Joe to win her over as a friend. As days pass with Joe being her nurse, a bond slowly forms and soon forgiving might be in the acts. Until a fatal experience effects not only Alex and Joe but most of his family and friends as well. And Joe’s past comes rushing back, pushing Alex with the thoughts of moving back home. It shouldn’t matter though, right? She is from Seattle. She hates Joe for lying to her. He is definitely not her type and even if there was something between them, they both don’t do relationships.
GAH! I was extremely blessed to win an early release copy of this WONDERFUL novel. I already knew before I started it, that I would be in love. Once you find an author that you like, it’s hard hating a book that is newly published. I wasn’t surprised that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Since I have loved everything I have previously read by Kylie Scott. Yes there were moments with intense drama or sad outcomes, but this book was easy going and relaxed. Which is just what I needed for a rainy weekend read. I was curled up, enjoying every page I turned and in no need to rush to the next chapter.
I have read the Stage Dive series (which is listed in my top favorite books/series. Here’s the link if you missed it) and also check out the first book in the Dive Bar series – Dirty!
This book, like all of Kylie Scott’s, was beautiful written and evenly spaced out with little nuggets of information and filled with steamy sex scenes. I loved how we were able to see how wonderful and sweet Joe is behind the roughness look and thick beard. How even though he may of deceived Alex, that he meant well by it all and how big his heart really is. Seeing Alex come out of her shell day by day and not only trust Joe but learn to trust in general was beautiful.
